Head-Up Display, Component Description - GF54.30-P-6140FG
Model 213 up to model year 2021 with code 463 (Head-up display)
Location
The head-up display is in a recess in the instrument panel and secured to the crossmember of the instrument panel.
Tasks
The head-up display projects driving-relevant information (e.g. speed, navigation information) onto the windshield and into the field of view of the driver. Only information relevant to the displays in the instrument cluster (A1) is displayed.
The heads-up display is responsible for the following:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals
Reading in of sensors and signals
The heads-up display reads in the input factors over the following connections:
- High-speed video link (HSVL)
- User interface CAN (CAN HMI)
High-speed video link
The head-up display receives the picture information processed by the instrument cluster, via the HSVL line.
User interface CAN
The head-up display reads in the input factors via the user interface
Evaluation of input factors
The integrated microprocessor evaluates the input factors read in.
Output of signals
The head-up display sends status information via the user interface CAN to the instrument cluster and diagnostic data via the user interface CAN to the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73).
