Location 

The telephone control unit is installed in the glove compartment.

Tasks 

The telephone control unit has the following tasks:

• Reception of the switch-on signal (wake-up) from the head unit (A26/17)
• Communication with the head unit via WLAN and the WLAN antenna (A2/83)
• Communication with the head unit via telematics CAN (CAN A) (status of the subscriber identification module (SIM) card)
• Communication with a mobile phone via Bluetooth®
• Communication with the mobile telephone network via the telephone antenna splitter (A2/109), the left telephone antenna (A2/102) and the right telephone antenna (A2/103)
• If the telephone control unit is selected as a WLAN hot spot: Provision of the Internet connection for external devices

Structure 

The telephone control unit has the following components:

• Communications module
• WLAN interface
• Interface for Bluetooth®
• Card reader for SIM card
