Correct inclination angle at the center (∠2). 

IMPORTANT To correct the inclination angle, install shop-made shims at the propeller shaft intermediate bearing. A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17°.

When using shims > 2 mm thick, increase the bolt length by 5 mm.

If a shim > 5 mm thick is required, check the front engine mount and rear engine mount for signs of settling or wear and replace if necessary.

  1. Mark the propeller shaft intermediate bearing.

    IMPORTANT Apply color markings identifying the position of the propeller shaft intermediate bearing relative to the frame floor assembly, in order to reproduce the plant installation position when installing.

  2. Remove bolt (7a) from propeller shaft intermediate bearing.
  3. Insert shop-made shims between the frame floor assembly and propeller shaft intermediate bearing.

    IMPORTANT The dimensions for the shims must be taken at the propeller shaft intermediate bearing, see following picture.

  4. Tighten screws/bolts (7a) from propeller shaft intermediate bearing TORQUE SPECIFICATION .

    Example: 

    IMPORTANT Shims (c) between frame floor assembly and propeller shaft intermediate bearing.

    Material: steel or aluminum.
