Location 

The Rear door control units are located on the corresponding door module behind the door trim.

Task 

The Rear door control units have the following tasks:

• Reading in of sensors and signals 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 
• Transmitting signals 

Reading in of sensors and signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• Left Rear door LIN (LIN B9) 
• Right Rear door LIN (LIN B10) 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The left Rear door control unit reads in the signals from the following components over direct lines:

• Left Rear door power closing microswitch actuator motor (A85/3s1) (with Code 883 (Power closing))
• Left Rear door main catch microswitch (A85/3s2)
• Left Rear door inside door handle microswitch (A85/3s3) (with Code 883 (Power closing))
• Left Rear door external operation microswitch (A85/3s4) (with Code 883 (Power closing))
• Hall sensor in left Rear door power window motor (M10/5)
• Left Rear door power closing microswitch (M14/23s1) (with Code 883 (Power closing))
• Heating element temperature sensor of left Rear seat armrest (R16/7b1) (model 213.1 with Code 907 (Rear armrest heating))
• Left Rear power window switch (S21/3) (except Code 297 (Roller sun blinds in Rear doors))

The left Rear door control unit reads in the signals from the following components over direct lines:

• Right Rear door precatch microswitch (A85/4s1) (with Code 883 (Power closing))

• Convenience feature request

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

The following components are actuated by the left Rear door control unit via direct lines:

• Left Rear door central locking motor (A85/3m1)
• Left Rear door additional door lock actuator motor (A85/3m4) (with Code (885) Increased theft protection)
• Left Rear door exit/warning lamp (E17/5) (with Code 877 (Ambiance illumination))
• Left Rear door outer door handle illumination (E17/23) (with Code 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Left Rear door power window motor
• Left Rear door power closing actuator motor (M14/23s1) (with Code 883 (Power closing))
• Left Rear door roller sun blind motor (M24/5) (model 213.1 with Code 297 (Roller sun blind in Rear doors))
• Left Rear seat armrest heating element (R16/7) (model 213.1 with Code 907 (Rear armrest heater))

The left Front door control unit supplies additionally the switch illumination (circuit 58d) and ambiance illumination (with Code 877 (Ambiance illumination)) with voltage.

• Door status (open/closed)
• Seat heater request (with Code 872 (Rear seat heater), model 213.1 with Code 402 (Rear comfort seats, including seat heater and seat ventilation) or Code 903 (Seat heater Plus for Rear outer seats))
• Seat ventilation request (model 213.1 with Code 402 (Rear comfort seats, including seat heater and seat ventilation))
