Component description for driver seat control unit - GF91.29-P-5231CA
MODEL 207.3/4 with CODE 275 (Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors))
Location
The driver seat control unit is located at the bottom of the driver seat frame.
Task
The driver seat control unit is responsible for the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Controlling functions
- Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The driver seat control unit reads in the signals from the following components via direct lines:
- Steering column in/out Hall sensor (M20/1b1)
- Steering column up/down Hall sensor (M20/2b1)
- Seat fore/aft adjustment Hall sensor, driver seat (M27/1b1)
- Height adjustment Hall sensor, driver seat (M27/2b1)
- Inclination adjustment Hall sensor, driver seat (M27/3b1)
- Head restraint adjustment Hall sensor, driver seat (M27/4b1)
- Backrest inclination Hall sensor, driver seat (M27/5b1)
- Left EASY-ENTRY system limit switch (S159/3)
The EASY-ENTRY system limit switch of two contact switches, backrest inclination switch contact switch and backrest release contact switch.
Interior CAN
The driver seat control unit reads in, for example, the following signals via interior CAN:
- Vehicle speed
- Crash-active easy exit feature request
- Status of the left front seat adjustment switch group (S22)
- Status of the left front door rotary tumbler switch (A85s1)
- Status of the steering column adjustment switch (S59)
On model 207.3 with code (287) Through-loading feature, the driver seat control unit reads in the following signals for control of the collision avoidance with the bench seat in the rear via interior CAN:
- Status of the left rear backrest inclination switch (S54/5)
- Status of the right rear backrest inclination switch (S54/6)
- Status of the left rear backrest lock switch (S54/7)
- Status of the right rear backrest lock switch (S54/8)
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the driver seat control unit. The actuation of the motors for seat and steering column adjustment takes place via integrated relays.
Controlling functions
The driver seat control unit controls the following functions:
- Seat and steering column adjustment
- Storing and calling up memory settings for seat, steering column and outside mirror
- Easy entry/exit (only steering column)
- Crash-active easy exit feature (only steering column)
- Head restraint presetting
- Rear easy entry (easy entry)
- Collision avoidance with bench seat in rear (on model 207.3 with code (287) Through-loading feature)
- Collision avoidance with draft stop (on model 207.4)
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The driver seat control unit actuates the following components via direct lines:
- Steering column in/out adjustment motor (M20/1)
- Steering column up/down adjustment motor (M20/2)
- Driver seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1)
- Driver seat height adjustment motor (M27/2)
- Driver seat inclination adjustment motor (M27/3)
- Driver seat head restraint adjustment motor (M27/4)
- Driver seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M27/5)
Interior CAN
The driver seat control unit sends, for example, the following signals via interior CAN:
- Request for actuation of memory positions of outside mirror
- Request to output an acknowledge tone
- Request to display warning messages
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Variants
There are no variants for the hardware of the driver seat control unit. The country or left-hand drive vehicle/right hand drive vehicle allocation is software coded.
