	Remove/install
	Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1	Switch off all electrical consumers, switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from electronic ignition lock control unit	All electrical consumers must be switched off. Otherwise they may be damaged when the ground line (5) is connected/disconnected.
2	Open luggage compartment floor cover (1)
3	Detach spare wheel well trim (2) far enough until the additional battery for the ECO start/stop function (G113) is accessible
4	Remove support (3)
5	Remove bolt (4) and detach ground line (5) from additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13)	Screw/bolt, battery cable to battery terminal on additional battery	*BA54.10-P-1004-01F
7	Remove cover (6) from positive line (7)
8	Use diode test lamp to check the on-board electrical system for voltage between the positive line (7) and a suitable ground point	Cover up positive line (7). Otherwise a short circuit may occur. If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system. ↓ In this case the ground line of the on-board electrical system battery should be disconnected.

		The electrical system is to be repaired once the work to be carried out has been completed.
9	Unscrew bolt (8) and remove positive line (7)	Screw/bolt, battery cable to battery terminal on additional battery	*BA54.10-P-1004-01F
10	Unscrew nut (10) of bracket (11)
11	Swivel bracket (11) upwards
12	Detach vent hose (9) from ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13)	Check bleed hose (9) is correctly seated. Otherwise leaking vapor may damage the vehicle.
13	Remove additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) from battery holder
14	Install in the reverse order
