The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.
Connection scheme
- Install individual contacts of touchpad wiring harness (13) electric lines and individual brown line (BN1
) into white 10-pin connector socket (13.1).
Contact cavity assignment:
Contact cavity 1 = brown line (BN1 )
Contact cavity 3 = red/gray line (RD/GY)
Contact cavity 8 = black/white line (BK/WH)
Contact cavity 9 = black line (BK)
Contact cavity 10 = brown line (BN)
- Route brown line (BN1
) to left center console ground point (W12) and connect Model 238
Model 213
.
- Route touchpad wiring harness (13), as shown, along existing lines into front passenger footwell.
Fix touchpad wiring harness (13) in place only after routing all retrofit wiring harnesses.
- Route brown line (BN) to electromagnetic compatibility ground point (Touchpad) (W91) and connect Model 238
Model 213
.
- Route red/gray line (RD/GY) together with twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) of touchpad wiring harness to right A-pillar.
- Route red/gray line (RD/GY) to front passenger side A-pillar fuse box (F1/3).
- Install red/gray line (RD/GY) into contact cavity "3" of electric multicircuit fuse 3 (F1/3MF3).
Contact cavity "3" and electric multicircuit fuse 3 (F1/3MF3) are labeled.
- Route twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) to telematics CAN (CAN A) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/35).
- Connect black connector socket to any free slot of telematics CAN (CAN A) potential distributor electrical connection (X30/35).
