Separate TAILLAMP Reinforcement - Ar63.20-P-2011-01LWT

Model 213.2 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Expose spot welds on closing panel (2) and cut out (areas A and B).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds from inside (area B).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through 2 panel thicknesses.

  2. Expose spot weld on closing panel (2) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area C).
  3. Heat closing panel (2) in cross-hatched area.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  4. Remove closing panel (2).

  5. Expose spot welds on rear lamp reinforcement (1) and cut out (areas D and E).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds from inside (areas E).

  6. Expose spot welds on rear lamp reinforcement (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area F).

  7. Heat rear lamp reinforcement (1) in crosshatched area.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  8. Remove rear lamp reinforcement (1).

  9. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  10. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  11. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas E).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
