Partially Install Inner Side Wall With Outer Rear Wheelhouse And Weld In - Ar63.10-P-6050-03LWT

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Install inner side wall (1) and fit.
- Install C-pillar.
- Install D-pillar.
- Install rear fender with portal bracket and fit.
- Fix inner side wall (1) in place.
- Remove portal bracket and rear fender.
- Remove D-pillar.
- Remove C-pillar.
- Drill rivet holes in inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit through present hole in body (arrow A).
- Remove inner sidewall (1).
- Deburr rivet hole on inner side wall (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to crosshatched area of body.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Observe manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of adhesive.
- Install inner side wall (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.4x12 rivets (area D).
Clamping range 3.1 mm.
- Inner side wall (1)
(areas E).
- Inner side wall (1)
(areas B and C).
Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
- Grind inert gas welds down flat (areas B and C).
Grind only on beaded areas and on contact surfaces of C-pillar and D-pillar.
- Clean weld joints no longer accessible after installing C-pillar, D-pillar and rear fender and coat with zinc dust paint.
