IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 205.0. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

  1. Expose spot welds on connecting carrier (2) and cut off (area A and B).
  2. Expose spot welds on connecting carrier (2) and drill out with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area C).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (area B).

  3. Model 205.0/2 with code 494 (US version) Model 205.3/4, 213, 253, 293 Expose inert gas welds on connecting carrier (2) and cut (area Q).
  4. Model 205.0/2 with code 494 (US version) Model 205.3/4, 213, 253, 293 Expose spot welds on the connecting carrier (2) and cut off (area R and S).

    IMPORTANT Cut out weld spots through two sheet metal thicknesses (area S).

  5. Expose spot welds on bottom longitudinal member (6) and drill out with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area P).
  6. Heat connecting carrier (2) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  7. Remove connecting carrier (2).

    Expose front spot welds on front seat front crossmember (3) and front seat rear crossmember (4) and cut off (area T).

    Expose inert gas welds an reinforcement (7) and cut (area Z2 ).

    Remove reinforcement (7).

    Expose inert gas weld seam on rear front seat crossmember (4) and cut (area D).

  12. Expose spot welds on the front seat front crossmember (3), front seat rear crossmember (4), and on the reinforcement (5) and cut off (area E, E1 , F1 ).

    IMPORTANT Model 213, 253

    Model 293

    Cut off spot welds from the bottom (area E1 and F1 ).

  13. Expose spot welds on front seat front crossmember (3), front seat rear crossmember (4), and on the reinforcement (5) and drill out with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area G and G1 ).

  14. Expose spot welds on front seat front crossmember (3), front seat rear crossmember (4), and on reinforcement (5) and cut off (area H and I).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (area I).

    Expose spot welds on reinforcement (5) and cut off (area H1 ).

    Heat reinforcement (5) in area of rear-end floor.

    IMPORTANT The connecting flange to the rear-end floor is bonded.

  17. Remove front seat crossmember (3) and rear front seat crossmember (4).
  18. Model 205

    Remove reinforcement (5).

  19. Expose spot welds on main floor (1) and cut off (area J1 and J3 ).
  20. Expose spot welds on main floor (1) and drill out with a diameter of 6.5 mm (area J2 ).

  21. Expose spot welds on bottom longitudinal member (6) and cut off (area K).
  22. Heat bottom longitudinal member (6) in crosshatched areas.
  23. Remove bottom longitudinal member (6).

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  24. Mark separating on main floor (1) and cut (area L).

    NOTES Do not cut too deeply.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

  25. Heat main floor panel (1) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    I1 = approx. 70 mm

    I2 = approx. 55 mm

  27. Remove main floor panel (1)

  28. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
  29. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (area M ).
