| 2 | Lift lower retainer (3) with screwdriver (2) and remove pneumatic spring (1) from D-pillar. | Otherwise the tension on the lower retainer (3) can be lost. |

| 3 | Lift upper retainer (3) with screwdriver (2) and remove pneumatic spring (1) from liftgate (4). | Otherwise the tension on the lower retainer (3) can be lost. |
