Connection scheme, shown on model 212.0
The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. For a right-hand drive vehicle, these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.
- Open all cable ducts at right, starting with cable duct at center console.
- Remove green fuse holder (1.5) from reversing camera wiring harness (1).
Use the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit.
- Remove green 2-pin connector housing of green 2-pin connector socket (1.3) from reversing camera wiring harness (1).
- Wrap insulation tape around the reversing camera wiring harness (1) starting from the black 6-pin connector socket (1.1) and white 1-pin female connector socket (1.2) for a length of 1500 mm (area A).
- Clip reversing camera (B84/3) into specified cutout in trunk lid.
Guide the electrical lines through into the interior of the trunk lid.
- Place reversing camera wiring harness (1) into trunk.
- Connect black 6-pin plug (3) to black 6-pin connector socket (1.1).
This connects the reversing camera electrical connection (B84/3x1).
- Connect white 1-pin plug (4) to white 1-pin connector socket (1.2).
This connects reversing camera electrical connection 2 (B84/3x2).
- Pull foam over reversing camera electrical connector (B84/3x1) and reversing camera electrical connector 2 (B84/3x2).
- Route reversing camera wiring harness (1) of reversing camera electrical connector (B84/3x1) and reversing camera electrical connector 2 (B84/3x2) starting at trunk lid over the trunk lid hinge and continuing to right rear wheel well.
Make sure that there is adequate freedom of movement when routing the reversing camera wiring harness (1) between the trunk lid hinge and right rear wheel well.
Otherwise unobstructed movement of the trunk lid hinge can be impaired or the reversing camera wiring harness (1) can be sheared off.
- Fix reversing camera wiring harness (1) in place using cable ties (arrows B) and felt tape (arrow A).
- Route red/blue line (RD/BU) along existing lines to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fix in place using cable ties.
- Route brown line (BN) along existing lines to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fix in place using cable ties.
- Connect brown line (BN) to right rear wheel arch ground point (W7)
.
- Strap down excess length of the brown line (BN) and fix in place using cable ties.
- Route black line (BK) along existing lines into vehicle interior and fix in place using cable ties.
