Routing diagram
- Clip reversing camera (B84/3), as shown, into cutout provided in trunk lid (4) and detach protective foil.
Route the electrical line into the interior of the trunk lid (4).
- Connect black 4-pin connector socket and white 6-pin connector socket to reversing camera power supply module (N66/10).
- Retrofit cable duct (6).
If the cable duct (6) is not installed.
- Route branch-off line for reversing camera (2.2) and brown line (BN) through cable duct (6) to left side of trunk.
- Route gray/blue line (GY/BU) and red/yellow line (RD/YE) along existing wiring harnesses of reversing camera power supply module (N66/10) to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and fix in place using cable ties.
- Route branch-off line for reversing camera (2.2) from cable duct (6) along trunk lid hinge and clip retaining clips attached to branch-off line for reversing camera (2.2) into corresponding holes.
Observe line installation in the area of the trunk lid hinge. The branch-off line for the reversing camera (2.2) must be routed with adequate clearance.
- Connect brown line (BN) to ground point on left rear wheel arch (W6)
- Route branch-off line for reversing camera (2.2) to trunk lid.
- Connect reversing camera electrical connector (B84/3x1).
To do so, connect the black 4-pin connector socket of the branch-off line for the reversing camera (2.2) and the black 4-pin plug of the reversing camera.
- Fix the electrical connector for the reversing camera (B84/3x1) in place on the trunk lid.
- Route red/yellow line (RD/YE) and gray/blue line (GR/BL), as shown, along existing wiring harnesses on right side of luggage compartment and fix in place using cable ties.
Route the red/yellow line (RD/YE) to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and the gray/blue line (GY/BU) to the right backup lamp.
- Connect gray/blue line (GY/BU) of reversing camera wiring harness with blue/green line (BU/GN) of right reversing light (E4/1e3) using a potential distributor (8).
The potential distributor (8) is available in the
Basic wiring harness repair kit or the
Supplement wiring harness repair kit for passenger cars.
- Wrap felt tape round potential distributor (8).
- Install green fuse holder of reversing camera wiring harness with connected red/yellow line (RD/YE) on rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
If the green fuse holder (7) is not yet fitted on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Remove green fuse holder (7) from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
If a green fuse holder (7) is installed on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Remove the red/yellow line (RD/YE) with the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit from the green fuse holder of the reversing camera wiring harness.
If a green fuse holder (7) was installed on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Install red/yellow line (RD/YE) into contact cavity 4 of green fuse holder (7).
If a green fuse holder (7) was installed on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Install green fuse holder (7) onto rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
If a green fuse holder (7) was installed on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
- Insert 5 amp fuse (10) into slot 4 of green fuse holder (7).
- Route branch-off line for video signal (2.1) from reversing camera power supply module, as shown, under floor covering in rear passenger compartment and to transmission tunnel and fix in place using felt tape.
- Route branch-off line for video signal (2.1) on transmission tunnel along existing wiring harness to slot for COMAND controller unit and fix in place using cable ties.
- Route excess length of branch-off line for video signal (2.1) in loops on transmission tunnel and fix in place using cable ties.
In the slot for the COMAND controller unit, a 100 mm length of the branch-off line for the video signal (2.1) should be available for connection.
- Model 218.3## 1# except code 518 (Media Interface) except code 610 (Night View Assist)
Connect green 1-pin connector socket (9) of branch-off line for video signal (2.1) to green slot of COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
- Model 218.3## 1# with code 518 (Media Interface) with code 610 (Night View Assist)
Remove green 2-pin connector socket (9) of branch-off line for video signal (2.1).
- Model 218.3## 1# with code 518 (Media Interface) with code 610 (Night View Assist)
Remove Media Interface line with the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit from contact cavity "1" of the 2-pin green connector socket and strap down.
- Model 218.3## 1# with code 518 (Media Interface) with code 610 (Night View Assist)
Insert the branch-off line for the video signal (2.1) into contact cavity "1" of the green 2-pin connector socket.
