	Disconnect, connect
1	Switch off all electrical consumers	All electrical consumers must be switched off. Otherwise they may be damaged when the ground line (6) is connected/disconnected.
2.1	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from electronic ignition lock control unit	Model 207, 212, 218 without CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO)
2.2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit	Model 207, 212, 218 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO)

5	Remove bracket for vehicle tool kit (7)	Model 212 with CODE ME04 (Mild hybrid drive)

7	Unfasten nut (5) and remove ground line (6) from negative terminal of on-board electrical system battery (G1)	Nut, battery cable to on-board electrical system battery negative terminal/positive terminal	*BA54.10-P-1006-01F

8	Using a diode test lamp, check the electrical system for voltage between the positive line of the on-board electrical system battery (G1) and the disconnected ground line (6)	Model 207 with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function) Model 212 with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function) Model 212 with CODE ME04 (Mild hybrid drive) Model 218 with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function) without CODE 4U7 (Start/stop voltage dip protector) If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system. In this case: ↓ Disconnect ground line from additional battery for ECO start/stop function.
