Stationary Heater Control Unit, Component Description - GF83.70-P-4066RF
Model 205, 253
with code 228 (Auxiliary heater)
Shown on model 205
Shown on model 253
Location
The stationary heater control unit is integrated in the stationary heater unit, which is located in the rear area of the right wheel arch.
Tasks
The stationary heater control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Transmitting signals
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Climate control LIN 2 (LIN B8-2)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:
- Stationary heater temperature sensor (A6b1) (model 205)
- Stationary heater coolant inlet temperature sensor (A6b2) (model 253)
- Stationary heater coolant outlet temperature sensor (A6b3) (model 253)
- Stationary heater thermal fuse (A6f1) (model 205)
- Flame monitor (A6r3) (model 253)
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit (A6r4) (model 205)
If the temperature of T = 125°C (model 205) or T = 130°C (model 253) is exceeded in the stationary heater unit, the thermal fuse detects overheating via the temperature sensor and switches off the stationary heater (STH) with a subsequent overheating interlock.
Climate control LIN 2
The stationary heater control unit also reads in the following information over the climate control LIN 2:
- Heat/ventilate request
- Stationary heater switchover valve (Y16) request
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Stationary heater combustion air blower (A6m2)
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit (model 205)
- Glow plug (A6r2) (model 253)
- Stationary heater switchover valve
- Stationary heater fuel pump (Y23)
Transmitting signals
The stationary heater control unit sends the following information or requests, among other things, via climate control LIN 2:
- Stationary heater status
- Diagnostic data
Variants
Engine variants:
- Gasoline engine
- Diesel engine
