	Risk of fire  /risk of explosion due to short circuit and escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of (burn) injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte/mist, short circuit and arcing. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte or absorption of lead through the skin or body orifices. Risk of death  due to voltage U >= 30 V AC and U >= 60 V DC.	No fires, sparks, open flames, or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing, and glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

	Remove/install
1	Print out checklist for transport safety of onboard electrical system battery (G1).	Model 205 (except 205.012/047/147/212/247), 213, 253 with code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB)) When replacing the on-board electrical system battery (G1).

2	Answer questions on checklist about transport safety for installed on-board electrical system battery (G1).	Model 205 (except 205.012/047/147/212/247), 213, 253 with code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB)) When replacing the on-board electrical system battery (G1).
3	Disconnect ground line (2) from on-board electrical system battery (G1).		AR54.10-P-0003LW
4	Remove retaining clips (8) using a suitable screwdriver and remove cover (9).	Model 205.086/087/386/387 except code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB))
5	Remove cover (10).	Model 205.086/087/386/387 except code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB))
6.1	Remove screw (3) approx. 10 revolutions until the holder (4) of the on-board electrical system battery (G1) can be folded away.	On a holder (4) without seat belt. Depending on the vehicle, the holder (4) can also be fitted with a nut.
		Screw/bolt/nut, battery bracket/retaining bracket to battery frame If the screw (3) has been completely removed. ↓  Position screw (3) again as long as the onboard electrical system battery (G1) is removed	*BA54.10-P-1008-01A
6.2	Remove screw (3) and place holder (4) to one side with safety belt in such a way that it does not obstruct the removal of the on-board electrical system battery (G1).	For a bracket (4) with safety belt.
		Depending on the vehicle, the holder (4) can also be fitted with a nut.

7.1	Detach vent hose (5) from on-board electrical system battery (G1).	Model 205 (except 205.012/047/147/212/247), 213, 253 except code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB)) Check bleed hose (5) is correctly seated. Otherwise leaking battery vapor may damage the vehicle.
7.2	Disconnect electrical connector at on-board electrical system battery (G1).	Model 205 (except 205.012/047/147/212/247), 213, 253 with code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB)) The electrical connection is located next to the ground line (2).
8	Remove cover (6).
9	Disconnect positive line (7) from on-board electrical system battery (G1).	Nut, electrical line to negative terminal/positive terminal of on-board electrical system battery	*BA54.10-P-1004-01A
10	Remove on-board electrical system battery (G1).
11	Install in the reverse order
12	Answer the questions on the removed on-board electrical system battery (G1) based on the transport safety checklist.	Model 205 (except 205.012/047/147/212/247), 213, 253 with code U98 (LITHIUM-ION STARTER BATTERY (LISB)) When replacing the on-board electrical system battery (G1).
