The camera cover control unit is located in the trunk on the left sidewall behind the side trim.
Tasks
The camera cover control unit controls the opening and closing of the rear camera cover. The camera cover protects the lens of the reversing camera (B84/3) (with CODE 218 (reversing camera)) or the lens of the rear 360° camera (B84/10) (with code 501 (360° camera)) from soiling through external factors (e.g. splash water).
The camera cover control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
- Output of signals
Reading in of sensors
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The camera cover control unit directly reads in the status of the rear camera cover motor switch (M35/2s1).
Interior CAN
The following signals, among others, are read in via interior CAN:
- Terminal status of terminal 15
- Status of reversing camera (with CODE 218 (Reversing camera))
- Status of camera, rear 360° camera (with CODE 501 (360° camera))
- Open/close camera cover request
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see the appropriate block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The camera cover control unit actuates the rear camera cover motor (M35/2) directly.
Output of signals
The camera cover control unit sends the status of the rear folding cover via interior CAN.
