Activate brake pad change mode.
- Set ignition to position 1.
- Close hood.
If the multifunction display shows the "Engine hood open" message.
- Select the total distance in the "Trip" menu in the instrument cluster.
You can browse in the main menus using swiping movements from left to right, and vice versa, on the instrument cluster finger navigation pad. Using swiping movements from top to bottom, and vice versa, on the instrument cluster finger navigation pad, you can scroll through submenus or lists within a main menu. Confirm the current selection or pending messages by pressing on the instrument cluster finger navigation pad.
- Press the "Back" button and hold for 1.5 s and press the instrument cluster on the finger navigation pad.
The "Workshop" menu opens.
- Activate brake pad change mode using the corresponding selection in the "brake pad change mode" menu.
Do not operate the service brake while "Move to assembly position" is shown.
Otherwise the spindle in the brake caliper is damaged.
Begin assembly position.
- Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (at least 2 m).
This prevents unintended deactivation of brake pad change mode.
Deactivate brake pad change mode.
Only deactivate brake pad change mode when the brake pads and brake caliper are installed.
Otherwise the brake pistons are pushed out of the brake caliper.
- Switch on ignition.
- Deactivate brake pad change mode using the corresponding selection in the "brake pad change mode" menu.
Exit assembly position.
- Exit the "Workshop" menu.
