DANGER Risk of injury  due to fan starting unexpectedly Do not reach into the rotation or hazard area of the fan. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. AS20.40-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
AS20.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
IMPORTANT Notes on coolant   AH20.00-N-2080-01A
  Drain off
1 Unscrew cap on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (2) NOTES Unscrew cap slowly on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (2) and relieve overpressure.
Scolding can occur otherwise through spitting out of hot coolant.

2 Mount screw on tester cap (1) at low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir (2) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Figure
3 Remove underfloor paneling   AR61.30-P-1001NKB
4 Mount clamp (4) on front left coolant hose (5) SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 6
5 Disconnect coolant hose at rear left (6) IMPORTANT To do this unfasten clamp (7) and catch escaping coolant in a suitable container.
6 Create pressure slowly over the pressure reducing valve (3) NOTES A pressure of a maximum of 1.5 bar is permissible.
Damage may occur otherwise if not observed.
IMPORTANT A pressure of about 0.5 bar is sufficient to empty the low-temperature circuit.
IMPORTANT Collect flowing out coolant in a suitable container.

7 Put together the coolant hose on the front left (5) and the coolant hose on the rear left (6)
8 Remove clamp (4) on front left coolant hose (5) SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 6
9 Mount clamp (4) on rear left coolant hose (6) SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 6
10 Disconnect coolant hose at front left (5)
11 Create pressure slowly over the pressure reducing valve (3) NOTES A pressure of a maximum of 1.5 bar is permissible.
Damage may occur otherwise if not observed.
IMPORTANT A pressure of about 0.5 bar is sufficient to empty the low-temperature circuit.
IMPORTANT Collect flowing out coolant in a suitable container.

12 Install coolant hose at front left (5) IMPORTANT To do this mount clamps (7).
  Pour in
13 Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system   AR20.00-P-1142-04AK
IMPORTANT Use clean coolant again.

DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
17 Perform an engine test run; check cooling system low-temperature circuit for proper function
