Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A

IMPORTANT Evaluation of high-voltage components   AH54.00-P-6500-01SXH
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Perform disable for the high-voltage on-board electrical system   AR54.10-P-1150NKE 
2 Remove high-voltage battery charger (1)   AR54.10-P-5106NKE 
3 Remove high-voltage distributor (2)   AR54.10-P-1400NKE 
IMPORTANT Place high-voltage distributor (2) with connected high-voltage electrical lines to one side and fix in place.  
4 Remove vacuum line (3) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, release lock (4).
 
5 Detach coolant lines (5) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, pry off coolant lines (5) with SPECIAL TOOL clamps (21).

6 Detach coolant line (6) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, pry off coolant line (6) with SPECIAL TOOL hose clamp pliers (20).

7 Detach positive line (7) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, remove cap (8) and remove bolt (9) and nut (10).
IMPORTANT Cover up positive line (7) using suitable SPECIAL TOOL protective cover.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, 12V cable (positive) to DC/DC converter *BA54.18-P-1003-02B

8 Detach ground line (11) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, unscrew nut (12).
IMPORTANT Cover up ground line (11) using suitable SPECIAL TOOL protective cover.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, 12V cable (ground) to DC/DC converter *BA54.18-P-1002-02B

10 Disconnect electrical connection (14) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT Cover up electrical connection (14) using suitable SPECIAL TOOL protective cover.

11 Detach electrical line (15) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780

IMPORTANT To do this, remove bolt (16).
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, holder for 12V cable (ground) to drive unit frame *BA54.18-P-1004-02B 
12 Disconnect electrical connection (17) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT Cover up electrical connection (17) using suitable SPECIAL TOOL protective cover.

13 Remove bolt (18) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
without CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
without CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
 
14 Detach ground line (22) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
with CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, unscrew nut (23) and release retaining clip (24).
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, 12V cable (ground) to DC/DC converter *BA54.18-P-1002-02B 
15 Detach ground strap (25) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
with CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, remove bolt (26) and release retaining clip (27).
 
16 Detach positive line (28) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
with CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do this remove nut (29).
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, 12V cable (positive) to DC/DC converter *BA54.18-P-1003-02B 
17 Disconnect electrical connection (30) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
with CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT Cover up electrical connection (30) using suitable SPECIAL TOOL protective cover.

18 Detach coolant lines (31) and cover up openings on DC/DC converter control unit (N83/1) using suitable protective cover MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
with CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
IMPORTANT To do so, pry off coolant lines (31) using SPECIAL TOOL hose clamp pliers (20).

19 Unscrew screws/bolts (32) MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
with CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, bracket to DC/DC converter *BA54.10-P-1008-03D 
20 Unfasten bolts (35) and move bracket (33, 34) to one side MODEL 242 with ENGINE 780
with CODE 055 (Modification year 14/2)
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)
 
21 Remove DC/DC converter control unit (N83/1)    
22 Detach and modify electrical connection (19) When replacing DC/DC converter control unit (N83/1).
IMPORTANT Cover up electrical connection (19) using suitable SPECIAL TOOL protective cover.

23 Enter new serial number in VeDoc (Vehicle Documentation) When replacing DC/DC converter control unit (N83/1).  
24 Install in the reverse order    
25 Perform protective earth conductor and insulation resistance test   AR54.10-P-0019-01NKE
IMPORTANT The vehicle must be de-energized.  
26 Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system   AR20.00-P-1142-04AK
