| 2 | Mark installation position of left or right hydraulic line set (3) on Vario roof crossmember (4) and mounting parts in trunk | ||
| 3 | Expose left or right hydraulic line set (3) on Vario roof crossmember (4) | ||
| 4 | Fold up insulating mat above Vario roof control unit hydraulic unit (A7/5) and secure against folding down. | ||
| 5 | Disconnect hydraulic lines (6) on left and right Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) from Vario roof control hydraulic control unit (A7/5) Close hydraulic lines (6) and connections on Vario roof control hydraulic control unit (A7/5) | Left Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1): Line no. 31 and line no. 33 Right Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1): Line no. 20 and line no. 22 |

| 8 | Remove clips (8) and bolts (9) | ||
| 9 | Remove Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) together with hydraulic lines (6) toward rear from Vario roof main bearing until retaining clips (11) and cable (10) are accessible. | ||
| 10 | Mark installation position of cable tie (10) on rear hydraulic lines (6) and Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) | ||
| 11 | Open cable ties (10) | ||
| 12 | Move retaining clips (11) on Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) with suitable pliers and pull hydraulic lines (6) out of Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1). | ||

| 13 | Connect hydraulic lines (6) to Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) and secure with retaining clips (11) | Connect line no. 20 at piston side and line no. 22 at rod side of right Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1). |
