	Removing
	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof	Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Open Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch as shown	Stop closing procedure before trunk lid (2) starts to lock. The rear shelf (3) must be positioned vertically.
2	Move trunk lid (2) to assembly position		AR88.50-P-5000-01V

3	Loosen left and right outer shaft seal (4) until trunk lid seal (1) can be removed from center pillars

4	Remove left and right water drain channel (5)
5	Completely remove trunk lid seal (1)	Always replace trunk lid seal (1) after removal.
	Install
6	Remove sealant residues and clean and degrease sealing surface in installation area for sealing profiles (6, 7)	The sealing surface must be free of oil and grease. Observe flash-off time for cleaning agent.

7	Install sealing profile (6) on left and right side of vehicle as shown	Length of sealing profile (6): 100 mm. Observe routing of sealing profile (6). Particularly ensure that the sealing profile (6) is crimped at the bead (arrow A) and makes contact to the body in the bending (arrow B). Fold over sealing profile (6) in radius area (arrow C) Do not touch sealing profile (6) with bare fingers. Observe guide dimension (a): 20 mm.

8	Install sealing profile (7) on left and right side of vehicle as shown	Length of sealing profile (7): 250 mm. Observe path of sealing profile (7) and ensure that sealing profile (6) is connected (arrow D). Particularly ensure that the sealing profile (7) is crimped at the bead (arrow E) and makes contact to the body in the bending (arrow F). Fold over sealing profile (7) in radius area (arrow C) Do not touch sealing profile (7) with bare fingers.

9	Install new trunk lid seal (1) starting with end pieces and knock on manually.	Ensure that the trunk lid seal (1) is positioned correctly when installing first, since the trunk lid seal (1) can no longer be removed after assembly in the area of the center pillars and must be reinstalled. Otherwise the retaining clips integrated into the end pieces in the trunk lid seal (1), loose their tension and no longer seal. Carefully press on trunk lid seal (1) in area of sealing profiles (6, 7). Otherwise leakage is not possible Do not beat with hammer. Otherwise trunk lid seal (1) can be damaged
10	Pull assembly cord (8) out of trunk lid seal (1) in direction of center of trunk	This ensures that the sealing lip of the trunk lid seal (1) is positioned in the trunk paneling. The trunk lid seal (1) is delivered with inserted with assembly cord (8).
11	Press in trunk lid seal (1) by hand in area of rear center section (9).
12	Check whether sealing lip on trunk lid seal (1) is seated correctly in trunk paneling and correct if required.
13	Install outer left and right shaft seal (4) on center pillars
14	Install left and right water drain channels (5)
15	Remove support, fold rear trunk lid (2) down and lock in trunk lid lock	Tubular frame remains set up

17	Perform rain test
