Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary - AP40.10-P-4050V

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Information on tires/rims   AH40.10-P-9411-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR00.60-P-1000V
2 Remove hubcaps Vehicles with hubcaps  
3 Unscrew wheel bolts and remove wheel-and-tire assemblies    
INSPECT Check     
4 Check tires for signs of damage and make sure that they are in good condition Model 171 AP40.10-P-4051Z
Model 172 AP40.10-P-4051EW 
5 Clean and check wheel bolt connection components, then protect against corrosion   AP40.10-P-4050-01A
NOTES Before mounting a wheel-and-tire assembly all  the operation steps listed in the linked description must be conducted carefully.
The complete wheel can otherwise work its way loose from the vehicle.
 
Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
INSTALLING Install     
6 Change round wheel-and-tire assemblies on front and rear axles If necessary, subject to separate repair order and only for vehicles without mixed tires.
NOTES Maintain running direction of wheel-and-tire assemblies.
Otherwise handling characteristics and handling comfort may be impaired and tire wear increased.
 
7 Mount wheel-and-tire assembly and tighten wheel bolts IMPORTANT Observe the tightening sequence (1 to 5) and tightening torque.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 171 Wheel bolt *BA40.10-P-1001-01A 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 172 Wheel bolt *BA40.10-P-1001-01M 
8 Lower vehicle    
9 Correct tire pressure of front and rear axle tires Model 171 AP40.15-P-4061B
Model 172
In the event of unusual tire pressure loss:

Determine and rectify cause, subject to separate repair order.

10 Mount hubcaps Vehicles with hubcaps
NOTES Check for correct positioning of hubcap to valve and for correct seating.
Otherwise the valve will be damaged or the hubcap will be lost.
 
11.1 Activate the tire pressure monitoring system Model 172
with code 475 (Tire pressure monitoring system)
 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR54.30-P-1000-02RAU
    IMPORTANT Only for wheel-and-tire assembly change, tire replacement or a change in tire pressure.  
11.2 Activate tire pressure loss warning Model 171
with code 477 (Tire pressure loss warning system)

except code 475 (Tire pressure monitoring system)
