	Remove/install
	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
	Risk of injury from grazing or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts	Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels.	AS00.00-Z-0017-01A

	Remove exhaust flap switchover valve on the left/right (Y93/1 or Y93/2)
1	Detach exhaust system in the rear area and place on the rear diagonal strut	Lay rags between exhaust system and diagonal strut.

2	Disconnect electrical connector (7) at exhaust flap switchover valve on the left/right (Y93/1 or Y93/2)
3	Unscrew nuts (8) at exhaust flap switchover valve on the left/right (Y93/1 or Y93/2)		*BA49.10-P-1020-01AI
4	Remove exhaust flap switchover valve on the left/right (Y93/1 or Y93/2)	When putting the exhaust flap switchover valve on the left/right (Y93/1 or Y93/2) in place the exhaust flap (9) must be closed.
	Checking
5	Check exhaust flap (9) for freedom of movement	The rear muffler (2) must be replaced for a defective exhaust flap (9).
	Remove respective components of the exhaust system
6	Remove engine compartment paneling	If necessary Only install engine compartment paneling after engine test run and leak test.	AR61.20-P-1105W
7	Disconnect electrical connection(s) for oxygen sensor(s) (G3/3, G3/4, G3/5, G3/6) and expose feed lines	If necessary	AR07.52-P-5303MMI
8	Disconnect electrical connector (7) at exhaust flap switchover valve on the left/right (Y93/1 or Y93/2)	If necessary
9	Remove left or right three way catalytic converter (1) from exhaust manifold	If necessary

10	Detach rear diagonal strut from frame floor assembly	If necessary

11	Detach corresponding components of exhaust system at separation points and remove	Align components for exhaust system tension-free before tightening the bolted connections. Apply lubricating paste to exhaust rubber mounts.

12	Remove combustion and corrosion residue at separation points
13	Check exhaust rubber mount for damage and wear
14	Install in the reverse order
	Checking
15	Inspect installation position and unobstructed movement of all components of the exhaust system
	Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
16	Perform an engine test run and check the leaktightness of the exhaust system as well as the function of the exhaust flap switchover valve on the left/right (Y93/1 or Y93/2)
