Remove/install rear center console - AR68.20-P-2020LF

MODEL 222.1/9 

with CODE 224 (Rear individual seat design)

DANGER Risk of death  from touching live components with AC voltages over 30 V Do not touch live parts. Persons who have electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) must not perform any work on components conducting AC voltage greater than 30 V. AS54.00-Z-0001-05A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Move driver and passenger seat toward front    
2 Remove trim piece behind rear seat   AR68.30-P-1460LF 
3 Unscrew bolts (13) and remove front cover (12) from rear shelf IMPORTANT Pull front cover (12) toward front and lift.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that front cover (12) is positively locked on rear shelf.
 
4 Unclip stowage tray MODEL 222.1
with CODE 224 (Rear individual seat design)
without CODE 864 (Rear compartment entertainment package)
IMPORTANT The stowage tray has the same fastenings points as the trim plate (14).
 
5 Unclip trim plate (14) MODEL 222.1/9
with CODE 224 (Rear individual seat design)
with CODE 864 (Rear compartment entertainment package)
IMPORTANT Unclip trim plate (14) first at bottom (arrows) and then from catch hooks (14a) at top.
 
6 Remove bolt (15) MODEL 222.1/9

7 Press hook (17) in direction of arrow (B) and remove stowage box reinforcement (16) MODEL 222.1/9

8 Lift rear entertainment (18) control unit and disconnect electrical connectors from rear entertainment control unit (18) MODEL 222.1/9

9 Unclip cover plate threaded connection (19)    
10 Unscrew bolts (22) from rear shelf    
11 Unscrew screws/bolts (20) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Lay top rear center console (24) down on bottom rear center console (25).  
12 Remove screw/bolts (21) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Press top rear center console (24) downward and toward rear when screwing in.  
13 Remove top rear center section (24) and disconnect electrical connector (23) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT On vehicles with CODE 864 (Rear entertainment system) route electrical line for DVD.  
14 Remove cover (31) on center console   AR68.20-P-2350LF 
15 Remove left and right backrest MODEL 222.1/9
with CODE 224 (Rear individual seat design)

16 Disconnect battery ground line MODEL 222.1/9
with CODE 224 (Rear individual seat design)
with CODE U67 (230 V socket in interior compartment)

with CODE U80 (115 V socket)

17 Remove socket 115V/230V MODEL 222.1/9
with CODE 224 (Rear individual seat design)
with CODE U67 (230 V socket in interior compartment)

18 Disconnect electrical connectors (26, 26a, 27) IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors depends on the vehicle equipment.  
19 Unscrew screws/bolts (28)    
20 Remove screw/bolts (29)    
21 Remove screw/bolts (30)    
22 Remove bottom rear center console (25) from vehicle IMPORTANT Use aid of helper.  
23 Install in the reverse order
