	Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

	Remove/install
2	Remove load compartment floor (1)
3	Remove spare wheel well paneling (2)
4	Disconnect ground line for on-board electrical system battery (G1)		AR54.10-P-0003LF
5	Remove positive terminal cover (3)
6	Unscrew nut (4) and disconnect positive terminal clamp (5) from positive terminal of on- board electrical system battery (G1)	Nut, charging cable to negative terminal/positive terminal of on-board electrical system battery	*BA54.10-P-1003-01J
7	Pull elbow fitting (7) off on-board electrical system battery (G1)	Check vent hose (6) is seated and routed correctly. Battery acid vapors emitted will otherwise damage surrounding components.
8	Unscrew nuts (8)	Nut, tensioning strap to battery frame	*BA54.10-P-1002-01J
9	Take tab (9) off threaded studs (10) and place to one side	Do not install tensioning strap (11) twisted.
10	Take on-board electrical system battery (G1) out of battery carrier (12) and then out of the trunk	Carefully remove on-board electrical system battery (G1) from the battery carrier (12). The threaded studs (10) may otherwise damage the on-board electrical system battery (G1).
11	Install in the reverse order
