Pour In Coolant And Bleed Cooling System - AR20.00-S-1142-04E

Model 447 with engine 274, 622.9, 651

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

  1. SPECIAL TOOL Attach tester cap (1) to the expansion reservoir.
  2. SPECIAL TOOL Attach control unit (2) to SPECIAL TOOL tester cap (1).
  3. SPECIAL TOOL Attach Venturi nozzle (3) to SPECIAL TOOL control unit (2).
  4. SPECIAL TOOL Close feed valve (4) and SPECIAL TOOL drain valve (5).

  5. SPECIAL TOOL Attach feed hose (6) to SPECIAL TOOL coolant reservoir (7).

    Model 447, model 448 with engine 274 FLUID SPECIFICATION

    MODEL 447 with ENGINE 622, 651 FLUID SPECIFICATION

    IMPORTANT To prevent air from being drawn in, ensure that the SPECIAL TOOL coolant reservoir (7) contains more coolant than the maximum filling capacity of the engine cooling system.

  6. SPECIAL TOOL Connect waste air hose (8) in an empty, suitable container.
  7. Attach compressed-air hose (9) to SPECIAL TOOL Venturi nozzle (3) and apply compressed air.
  8. SPECIAL TOOL Open drain valve (5).
  9. SPECIAL TOOL Open feed valve (4) for a short time until the SPECIAL TOOL feed hose (6) has filled with coolant.

    IMPORTANT A vacuum is created in the engine cooling system.

  10. SPECIAL TOOL Close drain valve (5) if display of the SPECIAL TOOL control unit (2) is in the green area.
  11. Remove compressed-air hose (9) from SPECIAL TOOL Venturi nozzle (3) and observe whether vacuum remains stable for 30 s.

    If vacuum does not remain stable for 30 s:

    Check hoses and connections, repair affected components and repeat test.

  12. SPECIAL TOOL Open feed valve (4).

    IMPORTANT The engine cooling system is now filled.

  13. SPECIAL TOOL Open drain valve (5) as soon as coolant is no longer suctioned.

    IMPORTANT The remaining existing vacuum will be removed in this way.

  14. SPECIAL TOOL Remove control unit (2) along with all the connections and SPECIAL TOOL tester cap (1).
  15. Correct coolant level on expansion reservoir.

    IMPORTANT The coolant level must not exceed the MAX marking.
