Outer A-Pillar Section Partially Prepare For Installation - Ar63.20-S-1108-02E

1. Scribe separating points and cut (areas A to E).

   Transfer separating point from vehicle (areas A to C).

2. Drill holes for MAG welding in A-pillar outer section (1) (area F).

3. Drill holes for MAG welding in A-pillar outer section (1) (areas G and H).
4. Punch holes for MAG welding in A-pillar outer section (1) (areas I and J).
5. Grind mating surfaces on A-pillar outer section (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas around holes.

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

6. Remove shavings and drill chips.
7. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
8. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

   Grind mating surfaces on A-pillar outer section (1) and A-pillar reinforcement (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

9. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

   Remove shavings and drill chips.

10. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

    Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

11. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

    Install A-pillar outer section reinforcement (2) in A-pillar outer section (1), fit and fix in place.

    A-pillar outer section reinforcement (2) (area K).

13. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

    Clean weld joints.

14. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

    Remove shavings and drill chips.

    Coat insides of spot weld flange (area K) with zinc dust paint.

    Drill holes for MAG welding in A-pillar outer section (1) from inside (area L).

17. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

    Grind A-pillar outer section (1) around holes (area L) on outside.

18. Model 447 with code JX0 (Short-distance operation)

    Remove shavings and drill chips.

19. Grind upper and lower door hinge strap down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
20. Remove shavings.
