MODIFICATION NOTES

- Install B-pillar outer section (1) and inner B-pillar (2), fit and fix in place with the
side portal frame and the straightening tool.
- Tack inner B-pillar (2)
(areas A and B).
- Inner B-pillar (2)
(area C).
- Weld in inner B-pillar (2) with
(areas D and E).
- Remove B-pillar outer section (1) and the straightening tool.
- Bend over sheet metal lug (area F).
- Weld in inner B-pillar (2) with
(area F).
- Grind shielding gas spot welds down flat (area C).
- Inner B-pillar (2)
(areas G to I).
- Inner B-pillar (2)
(area K).
- Inner B-pillar (2)
(area J).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Grind shielding gas weld down flat (area J).
- Clean weld joints.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to weld joints.
- Apply sealant to bottom e°e of soundproofing (3) (area Q).
Only when replacing right side of vehicle.
- Install soundproofing (3) on inner B-pillar (2).
Only when replacing right side of vehicle.
- Apply sealant to top e°e of soundproofing (3) (area Q).
Only when replacing right side of vehicle.
- Install B-pillar outer section (1) and fit.
- Model 447, 448.8 with code CN1 (Exterior rocker panel)
Install mounting rail (4) on longitudinal member panel.
For this purpose fasten mounting rail (4) with bolts (5).
- Fix B-pillar outer section (1) in place with the
side portal frame and straightening tool.
- Model 447, 448.8 with code CN1 (Exterior rocker panel)
Tack weld B-pillar outer section (1)
(area S).
- Model 447, 448.8 with code CN1 (Exterior rocker panel)
Remove mounting rail (4) on longitudinal member panel.
- B-pillar outer section (1)
(areas L to N).
- B-pillar outer section (1)
(areas O and P).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Grind shielding gas welds down flat (areas O and P).
- Clean weld joints.
- Restore surfaces on B-pillar outer section (1) and smooth.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
Shown on MODEL 447.811

Position mounting rail (4) and align.
- Model 447, 448.8 with code CN1 (Exterior rocker panel)
Transfer holes of mounting rail (4) to body.
Then remove mounting rail (4).

Drill and center punch holes (arrows).
- Model 447, 448.8 with code CN1 (Exterior rocker panel)
Deburr holes and remove drill chips.
