Refer to the superordinate service document for further information. Safety information in superordinate service document must be observed.
- Mark separating point on the wheel well paneling front part (1) (area A).
- Cut separating point on the wheel well paneling front part (1) (area A).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on the wheel well paneling front part (1) (areas B to F).
- Cut out spot welds on the wheel well paneling front part (1) (areas B to F).
- Heat wheel well paneling front section (1) (area G).
Crosshatched area is bonded.

Heat wheel well paneling front section (1) (area H).
Crosshatched area is bonded.
- Remove damaged wheel well paneling front section (1).
- Grind down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Grind flange for MAG welding down to bare metal on both sides (area I).
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to the insides of the spot weld flanges.
Do not coat bonding surface (area J) with zinc dust paint.
Otherwise, there may be adhesion problems.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surface (area J).
