The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.
The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Install upper front longitudinal member (1), fit and fix in place with welding fixture.
Model 447 with engine 622, 780
Use welding fixture 447 589 03 23 00.
Model 447 with engine 274, 651, 654
Model 448 with engine 274
Use welding fixture 447 589 02 23 00.
- Drill rivet holes in upper front longitudinal member (1) with Ø 6.5 mm (area A).
- Remove the upper front longitudinal member (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on both sides.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Refer to the manufacturer's information for the curing and working times of 2-component adhesive.
- Install upper front longitudinal member (1) and fix in place with welding fixture.
- Upper front longitudinal member (1)
(areas B and C).
- Rivet upper front longitudinal member (1) with Ø 6.4x14 blind rivet (area A).
- Clean weld joints.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
