Correct Installation Position Of Brake Fluid Reservoir - SM42.10-S-0026A

INSPECT Check     
1 Check whether vehicle is affected by measure Affected vehicles: Correct installation position of brake fluid reservoir
IMPORTANT For authorized Mercedes-Benz service partners, only the entry in the "Extended VEGA Application" (EVA) system, in the "Current" tab is decisive. An additional test of the affected vehicles in the workshop information system (WIS) or vehicle list is thereby not necessary.

2 Check if the expansion rivet (1) is present and undamaged If the expansion rivet (1) is present and undamaged
↓
continue with operation step 3.
if the expansion rivet (1) is missing or damaged
↓
Proceed with step 4.
 
3 Check the installation position for the brake fluid reservoir (2) IMPORTANT Pull brake fluid reservoir (2) in direction of travel and then push against the direction of travel. The installation position of the brake fluid reservoir (2) is correct, when the brake fluid reservoir (2) is firmly seated in the bracket (3).
If the brake fluid reservoir (2) is firmly seated in the bracket (3)
↓
Vehicle not affected by measure and can be handed over to the customer.
If the brake fluid reservoir (2) is not firmly seated in the bracket (3)
↓
Proceed with step 4.
 
4 Correct installation position of brake fluid reservoir (2) IMPORTANT To do so, press brake fluid reservoir (2) against direction of travel until it is firmly seated in the bracket (3). The installation position of the brake fluid reservoir (2) is now corrected.  
5 Install expansion rivet (1) NOTES Expansion rivet (1) must be installed as shown.
Otherwise, a firm seating and correct installation position of the brake fluid reservoir (2) cannot be assured.
IMPORTANT If the expansion rivet (1) is not present or damaged, it can be procured through the known parts ordering process.
