	Check
1	Check if vehicle is affected by measure.	Affected vehicles: Check center foot of roof railing for proper attachment (code: VS2DACHTRA) For authorized Mercedes-Benz service partners, only the entry in the Extended VEGA Application (EVA) system, in the "Current" tab, is decisive. An additional test of the affected vehicles in the workshop information system (WIS) or vehicle list is thereby not necessary.	SM77.40-S-0003-01AAA
2	Check which roof railing (1) is affected.	Affected vehicles: Check center foot of left roof railing for proper attachment (code: VS2DACHTRA)	SM77.40-S-0003-02AAA
		Affected vehicles: Check center foot of right roof railing for proper attachment (code: VS2DACHTRA) Both roof railings (1) or only one side may be affected.	SM77.40-S-0003-03AAA
	Remove
3	Remove affected roof railing (1).
		Carefully remove front and rear roof railing covers (3) using long wedge in area of joints. Otherwise, the front and rear roof railing covers (3) may be damaged during removal.	AR77.40-S-5000E
	Check
4	Check center foot (2) of respective affected roof railing (1).	Using long wedge , check whether the center foot (2) of the respective removed roof railing (1) exhibits play at the mount to the roof railing (1). If no play is found: ↓ The respective roof railing (1) is not affected by the measure and can be reinstalled. In this case, continue with operation step 5. If play is present: ↓ Replace respective roof railing (1). In this case, continue with operation step 5.
	Install
5	Install respective removed or new roof railing (1).
		Replace damaged roof railing covers (3) during removal. Properly dispose of removed component parts that are no longer required. When doing so, observe the valid, legal regulations of the relevant country.	AR77.40-S-5000E
