The bonding area must be absolutely free of dust and grease. Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
- Cut down present glue beads (1, 2) on body flange to a height of approx. 1 to 2 mm. Remove remaining pieces not cut off completely from adhesive beads (1, 2).
Do not leave more than 2 mm (1, 2) of present glue bead.
- Remove cutting residues from body flange.
- Repair paint damage on body flange.
- 4.1 Model 117, 176, 292 with code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof) Apply primer in gluing area if glue residues are not present.
Observe processing notes for primer.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease when installing window.
- 4.2 Model 166, 204.3, 207.3, 212, 221.1 with code 413 (Automatic panoramic sliding sunroof) If remaining glue is missing in bonding area apply primer from repair kit installation 500662 01/03/05/07/09/11.
