The following special tools are required:
telescopic measuring rod,
telescopic measuring rod,
mount,
measuring fixture set,
holder and
connecting parts.
The measuring set is designed in such a way, that the measuring bolts, according to the measuring points at the vehicle, can be screwed together out of mounting bolts, extensions and measuring tips/bolts.
The distance dimensions are given in the table "Check values for distance and comparative measurement on front axle".
The configuration of the measuring bolts for the respective distance dimensions is given on the list below. The numbers under "Configuration of measuring bolts" are the end numbers of the special tools in the measuring fixture set.
Example: 02/08/10 = 168 589 07 63 02 (mounting bolt), 168 589 07 63 08 (extension), 168 589 07 63 10 (measuring tip).

- Measure distance dimension (V1) from check point (K) to center of bolt head of rear mount for front axle carrier. Measure on both left and right side. Unscrew bolts if necessary, check for deformation and screw back in again.

- Measure distance dimension (V2) from check point (K) to center of bolt head of front mount for front axle carrier. Measure on both left and right side. Unscrew bolts if necessary, check for deformation and screw back in again.

- Measure the distance dimension (V3) diagonally to the centering point of the screw heads between the front and rear bearing of the front axle carrier. Measure from left to right side in each case.
