  Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors from an air conditioning system containing R134a. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid R134a refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms.
Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated. Model 166, 292 except code 2U8 (Alternative refrigerant)

  Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain air conditioning system   AR83.30-P-1760CW
2 Remove front fender Model 292 AR88.20-P-2000GQC
Model 166 AR88.20-P-2000GQ
3 Remove bolt (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, fluid reservoir to condenser *BA83.30-P-1002-01J 
4 Unscrew bolt (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut/bolt, high-pressure line to fluid reservoir *BA83.30-P-1001-01J 
5 REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Pull out pressure lines (3) Compressor oils (specification 362.1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The seals on the pressure lines (3) must be replaced and moistened with compressor oil. BB00.40-P-0362-01A
6 Remove desiccant cartridge (4)    
7 Seal opening at connection fitting using a suitable stop plug Only if desiccant cartridge (4) is not immediately installed.
NOTES The opening at the connection fitting must be plugged.
Otherwise penetrating dirt and moisture will damage the components that are connected to the refrigerant circuit.
SPECIAL TOOL Record plug

8 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
9 Evacuate the air conditioning system, refill it, and then check the system to make sure that it functions correctly and does not leak   AR83.30-P-1760CW
