The name for "Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC" has been changed; as of MYJ17/2, the designation will be "Parking Pilot". The nomenclature change is not taken into account in this documentation.
Parking system, general
The parking systems support the driver in parking situations either actively or passively, depending on their configuration.
In both cases, the parking systems contribute to enhancing ride comfort and road safety.
The parking systems are based on the optical detection of obstacles and on the detection of obstacles via ultrasonic measurement.
