Separate Rear Fender - AR63.50-P-1400-02GQS
MODEL 166.0 with CODE Z04 (Light armoring)
In principle replacement parts required for this repair can be replaced completely. Ensure that the standard joining and bonding connections are observed or are coordinated with the responsible Daimler AG departments in individual cases. On cut panels also ensure that the joints to the present paneling are accessible for later cavity preservation and that the minimum distance between foam-protected areas and connection points is approx. 100 mm.
- Scribe separating points on rear fender (1) and cut (areas A1 and A2 ).
- Scribe separating point on rear fender (1) and cut (area A3
).
Separating point is Y-marking (arrow).
- Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) and cut out (areas B, C, D, E1, E2 and E3 ).
- Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) and cut out (areas F, G, I, J, K1 and K2 ).
- Separate rear fender (1) from separating point with window removal tool (area H).
The rear fender (1) is bonded in area H to the outer rear wheel well.
- Heat rear fender (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove damaged rear fender (1).
- Remove remaining adhesive from outer rear wheel well (area XX).
A maximum of 2 mm of adhesive residue may be left. Pull off loose adhesive material (remaining pieces which are not completely cut off).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
- Crimp connecting flange on rear fender (1) toward inside with crimping pliers (area A1
).
Use crimping pliers for heavily accessible areas.
