1	Remove front center engine compartment paneling (30), center engine compartment paneling (31) and the rear engine compartment paneling (32)

	Check
2	Check visible systems, powertrain components, lines, hoses on the underfloor for damage, correct routing, leaks, correct mounting and corrosion	Brake system, Spring elements, Shock absorber, Suspension lines and sensors, Steering, Front axle, Engine and mounted major assemblies, Cooling system, Heater and A/C system, Transmission, Exhaust system, Exhaust aftertreatment, Actuator motors of exhaust gas flaps, Heat shields, Rear axle, Rear axle shafts with boots, Rear axle differential, Fuel system. If there is a problem ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
3	Check visible systems, components, lines and hoses on the underfloor for damage, correct routing, leaks, correct mounting and corrosion	Equipment-dependent. Front axle shafts with boots (4MATIC), Front axle transmission (4MATIC), Stationary heater, Hybrid components, Transfer case (4MATIC). If there is a problem ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
4	Check underfloor and visible components on underfloor for damage, routing, mounting and corrosion	Wheel well trim Underfloor paneling, Underfloor. If there is a problem ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
5	Check visible body panels for corrosion and deformation	Wheel well body panels Front axle carrier, Rear axle carrier, Chassis steering arms, Underfloor body panels, Body reinforcements. If there is a problem ↓ proceed in accordance with the country-specific regulations for mobility and body shell complaints.
6	Check vehicle underside for evidence of driving over obstacles or damage caused by contact with the vehicle underside	If driving over obstacles or damage caused by contact with the vehicle underside is suspected ↓ Check steering for mechanical damages. If the steering shows signs of mechanical damage. ↓ Subject to separate repair order, replace steering for safety reasons.
