Location 

The DVD player is freely accessible and located in the center of the rear bench seat above the propeller shaft tunnel.

Tasks 

Central control unit for rear entertainment system 

The DVD player is used for the following applications:

Use of all audio or video sources installed on and in DVD player 

Usage also includes management of the audio and video sources as well as connection detection (recognition). The following audio or video sources are available:

IMPORTANT A media source of the COMAND controller unit can only be used via "COMAND", if it was previously enabled at the COMAND controller unit via the menu entry "Active source for rear" for rear entertainment.

IMPORTANT There is no connection detection for media sources connected via "AUX"; these media sources must always be selected manually.

Power and resource management 

The DVD player recognizes overvoltage or undervoltage and reacts with an adapted switch on and switch off behavior.

Body 

The following components are integrated in the DVD player:

IMPORTANT The DVD drive of the DVD player is a single slot drive. In addition to DVD Video and audio media, CD audio media and MP3 files can also be played. Furthermore, media protected by frequently used copy protection systems and recorded blanks (CD R/RW; DVD-R, DVD-RW; DVD+R, DVD+RW) can be played. The DVD drive has a "DVD Disk Auto Detect" function.
