Remove/Install DC/DC Converter - AR54.10-P-1350GQA

  Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch damaged or defective components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A

  Power disable     
1 Connect diagnostic system and save basic data from DC/DC converter control unit (2) Only when replacing the DC/DC converter control unit (2).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2 Perform disable for the high-voltage on-board electrical system   AR54.10-P-1150GQA 
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
3 Remove load compartment floor   AR68.80-P-5800GQA
4 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003GZ 
5 Unscrew nut (7) and remove both 12V positive lines IMPORTANT The nut (7) remains on the positive line.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, positive line to DC/DC converter *BA54.10-P-1012-02G 
6 Unscrew bolt (1) of ground line and remove ground line TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, ground line to DC/DC converter *BA54.10-P-1013-02G 
7 Clamp off coolant hoses (5) close to DC/DC converter (2) NOTES The coolant hoses (5) must be clamped off as close as possible to the DC/DC converter (2). In order to keep the escaping coolant as low as possible.  
SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 1
8 Unlock coolant hoses (5) at DC/DC converter (2)    
9 Disconnect coolant hoses (5) from DC/DC converter (2) and collect escaping coolant using a suitable container or rags    
10 Disconnect electrical connector of high-voltage line (4)    
11 Protect electrical connectors on high-voltage line (4) and on DC/DC converter (2) against moisture SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Figure
12 Disconnect electrical connector (6)    
13 Unclip electrical subharness (9) from high-voltage battery frame at the arrows SPECIAL TOOL Clip remover Figure
14 Unscrew nuts (10) from retaining plate of charger for high-voltage battery (11) and remove retaining plate TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, charger terminal rail to battery frame *BA54.10-P-1016-02G 
15 Push charger for high-voltage battery (11) to the left IMPORTANT To create access to the bolts (8).  
16 Unscrew bolts (3, 8) from DC/DC converter (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, DC/DC converter to bracket *BA54.10-P-1011-02G 
17 Remove DC/DC converter (2)    
CLEANING Clean     
18 Clean coolant from load compartment and components    
19 Install in the reverse order    
  Completion     
20 Bleed and top up coolant circuit   AR20.00-P-1147GQA
  Initial startup     
21 Perform initial startup of high voltage on-board electrical system   AR54.10-P-1150GQA 
22 Transfer previously saved basic data to DC/DC converter control unit (2) Only after replacing the DC/DC converter control unit (2).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
23 Perform initial startup of DC/DC converter control unit (2) using diagnostic system Only after replacing the DC/DC converter control unit (2).
