Location
The rear door control units are located on the corresponding door module behind the door trim.
Task
The rear door control units have the following tasks:

Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read in by the left rear door control unit via direct lines:
- Left rear door lock (A85/3):
- Left rear door power closing microswitch actuator motor (A85/3s1) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Left rear door main catch microswitch (A85/3s2)
- Left rear door inside door handle microswitch (A85/3s3) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Left rear door external operation microswitch (A85/3s4) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Hall sensor in left rear door power window motor (M10/5)
- Left rear door power closing microswitch (M14/23s1) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Left rear power window switch (S213)
The signals from the following components are read in by the right rear door control unit via direct lines:
- Right rear door lock (A85/4):
- Right rear door precatch microswitch (A85/4s1) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Right rear door main catch microswitch (A85/4s2)
- Right rear inside door handle microswitch (A85/4s3) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Right rear door external operation microswitch (A85/4s4) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Hall sensor in right rear door power window motor (M10/6)
- Right rear door power closing actuator motor microswitch (M14/24s1) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
- Right rear power window switch (S214)
The rear door control units connect the connected control elements with circuit 58d.
Interior CAN
The rear door control units read in the following signals, among others, via the interior CAN:
- Terminal status of terminal 15
- CL locking unlocking/locking request
- PRE-SAFE® adjustment request
- Convenience feature request

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The following components are actuated by the left rear door control unit via direct lines:
- Left rear door lock:
- Left rear door central locking motor (A85/3m1)
- Left rear door additional door lock actuator motor (A85/3m4) (with code (885) Increased theft protection)
- Left rear door exit and warning lamp (E17/5) (model 166.0, 292 with CODE 876 (Interior light package), model 166.8)
- Left rear door handle illumination (E1713)
- Left rear door ambiance illumination (E17/45) (with CODE 876 (Interior light package))
- Left rear door power window motor
- Left rear door power closing actuator motor (M14/23s1) (with CODE 883 (Power closing))
The following components are actuated by the right rear door control unit via direct lines:
- Right rear door lock:
- Right rear door central locking motor (A85/4m1)
- Left rear door additional door lock actuator motor (A85/4m4) (with code (885) Increased theft protection)
- Right rear door exit and warning lamp (E17/6) (model 166.0, 292 with CODE 876 (Interior lights package), model 166.8)
- Right rear door handle illumination (E17/14)

- Right rear door power window motor

Transmitting signals
