	Remove/install
1	Remove rear wheel.		AR40.10-P-1102A
2	Remove air spring.	Model 253.388/389/988/989 with code 489 (AIR BODY CONTROL)	AR32.22-P-1500LWX
3	Remove shock absorber.		AR32.25-P-0110LW
4	Operate electric parking brake and unscrew nut (2) from rear axle shaft (3).	Replace nut (2) and double-lock it

5	Remove brake disk (5).		AR42.10-P-0220EWE
6	Remove torsion bar linkage (6) from wheel carrier (1).		AR32.35-P-3329LWX
7	Unhook electric lines (8) from holder (7).
8	Remove screw/bolt (11).	Bolt, RPM sensor to wheel carrier	*BA42.30-P-1001-02K
9	Remove RPM sensor (9) with holder (12) and place to one side with electric lines (4, 8) attached.
10	Remove thrust arm (17) from wheel carrier (1).	Bolt, thrust arm to wheel carrier If a screw with multi-point socket profile is installed. ↓ Use the screwdriver bit.	*BA35.20-P-1002-05J

11	Remove spring link (15) from wheel carrier (1).	Bolt, spring control arm to wheel carrier	*BA35.20-P-1002-01I
12	Remove tie rod (18) from wheel carrier (1).	Bolt, tie rod to wheel carrier If a screw with multi-point socket profile is installed. ↓ Use the screwdriver bit.	*BA35.20-P-1001-04M

13	Remove strut rod (19) from wheel carrier (1).	Bolt, strut rod to wheel carrier If a screw with multi-point socket profile is installed. ↓ Use the screwdriver bit.	*BA35.20-P-1002-03L

14	Remove camber strut (16) from wheel carrier (1).	Bolt, camber strut to wheel carrier If a screw with multi-point socket profile is installed. ↓ Use the screwdriver bit.	*BA35.20-P-1002-02L

15	Remove wheel carrier (1) from rear axle shaft (3).	If the rear axle shaft (3) is firmly seated in the rear axle shaft flange. ↓ Detach rear axle shaft (3) from rear axle shaft flange.

16	Press new rear axle shaft flange into angular-contact ball bearing up to end stop.	When replacing the wheel carrier (1).

		The new wheel carrier (1) is supplied with angular-contact ball bearings only. The angular contact ball bearing does not need to be removed from the new wheel carrier (1).
17	Remove brake cover plate (10) from wheel carrier (1).	When replacing the wheel carrier (1).
		Screw/bolt, rear axle brake cover plate to hub/rotor assembly	*BA42.10-P-1004-06J
18	Remove screws (13, 14) and remove holder (7).	When replacing the wheel carrier (1).
19	Install in the reverse order.
20	Perform chassis alignment.		AR40.20-P-0200LW
