Activate/Deactivate Pad Change Mode - AR42.10-P-1710-01LWE

Model 205, 463 as of model year 2019 

Model 213, 238, 293 

Model 253 as of model year 2020 

Activate brakepad change mode. 

  1. Set ignition to position 1.
  2. Close hood.

    If the multifunction display shows the "Engine hood open" message.

  3. Select the total distance in the "Trip" menu in the instrument cluster.

    IMPORTANT You can browse in the main menus using swiping movements from left to right, and vice versa, on the instrument cluster finger navigation pad. Using swiping movements from top to bottom, and vice versa, on the instrument cluster finger navigation pad, you can scroll through submenus or lists within a main menu. Confirm the current selection or pending messages by pressing on the instrument cluster finger navigation pad.

  4. Press the "Back" button and hold for 1.5 s and press the instrument cluster on the finger navigation pad.

    IMPORTANT The "Workshop" menu opens.

  5. Activate brakepad change mode using the corresponding selection in the "Brakepad change mode" menu.

    NOTES Do not operate the service brake while "Move to assembly position" is shown.

    Otherwise the spindle in the brake caliper is damaged.

    IMPORTANT Begin assembly position.

  6. Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (at least 2 m).

    IMPORTANT This prevents unintended deactivation of brakepad change mode.

    Deactivate brakepad change mode. 

    NOTES Only deactivate brakepad change mode when the brakepads and brake caliper are installed.

    Otherwise the brake pistons are pushed out of the brake caliper.

  7. Switch on ignition.
  8. Deactivate brakepad change mode using the corresponding selection in the "Brakepad change mode" menu.

    IMPORTANT Exit assembly position.

  9. Exit the "Workshop" menu.
