	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
	Notes on avoiding damage through contamination and foreign objects		AH00.00-P-5000-01A
1	Switch off ignition
2	Open engine hood and raise to vertical position		AR88.40-P-1000GQ
3	Remove upper engine cover	Only install upper engine cover after engine test run.
4	Unscrew bolts (1s) and remove noise damper (1)	Check sealing ring on noise damper (1) for damage and correct seating, replace if necessary.

5	Detach wiring harness (2) from holder (3)
6	Remove bracket (3)
7	Detach line (4) from vacuum pump (5).
8	Unscrew bolts (5s) and remove vacuum pump (5) towards the front	Install new gasket Align drive plate of vacuum pump (5) with recess in camshaft. Replace factory-installed aluminum screw/bolts installed with steel screw/bolts.

	Clean
9	Clean sealing surfaces	Cleaner from package	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
10	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
11	Carry out test run engine and check vacuum pump (5) for leaks and function
