	Remove/install
	Risk of injury  . Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components.	AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
	Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.	Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.	AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1	Move front seat forward (1) and retract head restraint
2	Remove cover (2)		AR91.10-P-1200GQ
3	Remove bolt (5)	MODEL 166 with CODE 494 (US version)
		Bolt, locking plate on belt end fitting/tensioner	*BA91.40-P-1002-01R
4	Remove tab washer (4)	MODEL 166 with CODE 494 (US version)
5.1	Pull seat belt (6) toward front (arrow) out of guide at front seat (1)	MODEL 166 with CODE 494 (US version) Do not twist seat belt (6).
5.2	Detach belt end fitting from front seat (1); to do so, remove screw/bolt (1c)	MODEL 166 without CODE 494 (US version) Do not twist belt end fitting.
		Bolt, belt end fitting/tensioner on front seat	*BA91.40-P-1001-01R
6	Remove rear screws/bolts (3) from front seat (1)	Bolt of seating mounting bracket to (1) vehicle floor	*BA91.10-P-1001-01L
7	Move front seat (1) far enough to rear until the front screws/bolts (7) are accessible
8	Remove front screws/bolts (7) from front seat (1)	Bolt of seating mounting bracket to vehicle floor	*BA91.10-P-1001-01L
9	Remove cover (8) from seat rail		AR91.10-P-1200GQ
10	Detach ground line from battery		AR54.10-P-0003GZ
11	Disconnect electrical lines (10) from front seat (1) and unclip from front seat (1)	To do so, raise front seat (1) at front. If necessary, replace cable ties. Ensure that clip (9) is seated correctly and electrical lines (10) are routed correctly.
12	Disconnect pneumatic line from bottom of front seat (1)	MODEL 166 with CODE 399 (Multicontour front seats with massage function) Carefully detach pneumatically line. Danger of breakage.
13	Cover center console, door sill and steering wheel	Cover door sill and door sill molding with door sill protector. Door sill protector
14	Remove front seat (1) from the vehicle through the door cutout for the front door	Carefully remove front seat (1) from vehicle. Otherwise components in the vehicle interior or at the front door or the sill may be damaged. Helper required. Ensure that lock pins of seat rails are seated correctly in vehicle floor.
15	Put down front seat (1) and secure it against tipping over
16	Install in the reverse order
