Remove/install rear seat belts - AR91.40-P-0681GW

MODEL 463 (except 463.202) as of model year 2013/model refinement package 2012

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Notes on performing repair, body work and welding on vehicles with airbags and ETR units   AH91.00-P-0002-01M
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by release of spring in the automatic belt retractor. Never disassemble automatic belt retractors. AS91.00-Z-0002-01A
IMPORTANT Legal requirements on handling and storing airbags and emergency tensioning retractor units   AH91.00-P-0004-01A
1 Detach ground line from battery   AR54.10-P-0003GW
NOTES Notes on battery   AH54.10-P-0001-01A
2 Check seat belts and buckles for external damage and correct operation   AP91.40-P-9150GI 
3 Fold rear seat down forwards    
4 Push the cap for the seat belt guide bracket (1) upward and remove it    
5 Unscrew nut (2) from seat belt guide bracket (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1005-01C 
6 Remove cap from belt end fitting (3)    
7 Remove bolt (4) from belt end fitting (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1001-01C 
8 Remove side wall lining   AR68.30-P-1450GW
9 Remove bolt from automatic belt retractor (5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1006-01C 
10 Disconnect electrical connector at left 2nd seat row emergency tensioning retractor squib (R12/6) or right 2nd seat row emergency tensioning retractor squib (R12/7)    
11 Remove automatic belt retractor (5) IMPORTANT Noise in the inertia reel during seat belt retraction is caused by operation. The only available response to negative customer feedback regarding unacceptable noise levels is to replace the seat belt assembly in its entirety.
IMPORTANT On no account should oil or grease be used to help eliminate noise.
IMPORTANT Automatic belt retractors (5) may not be opened, as otherwise the warranty is rendered null and void.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Note different versions (left and right) of inertia reel.
 
IMPORTANT Assessment of airbag and belt tensioner units in accident vehicles   AH91.00-P-0006-01B
    IMPORTANT If the seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor is replaced, the defective seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor must be disposed of properly: ↓

12 Install in the reverse order    
13 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, read out and erase fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
