Remove/install additional radiator - AR20.20-P-3866GW

DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Lift/jack up vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000G
2 Remove underride guard IMPORTANT Aid of helper required  
3 Remove front bumper   AR88.20-P-2000GW
4 Drain off coolant Engine 279 in model 463 AR20.00-P-1142RKC 
NOTES Notes on coolant   AH20.00-N-2080-01A
Engine 157 in model 463 AR20.00-P-1142GW 
5 Detach coolant hoses (2) on additional engine radiator (1)   AR09.41-P-1311-01AL
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check seals for damage; replace if necessary.
IMPORTANT Seal openings using SPECIAL TOOL stop plugs.

6 Detach strut (3) from retaining frame (4) at additional engine radiator (1) IMPORTANT Engine 279 in model 463

TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 157 in model 463

7 Unscrew nuts (5) and remove additional engine radiator (1) with retaining frame (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 279 in model 463
Wheel arch on the right nut, bracket for wheel arch radiator to longitudinal member

TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 157 in model 463
Wheel arch on the right nut, bracket for additional radiator (right wheel arch) to bumper carrier

8 Remove radiator trim (6) Only when replacing the additional engine radiator (1).  
9 Remove bracket (7) Only when replacing the additional engine radiator (1).  
10 Remove screw/bolts (8) and detach retaining frame (4) Only when replacing the additional engine radiator (1).  
INSPECT Check     
11 Check rubber grommets (9) for damage; replace if necessary    
12 Install in the reverse order    
13 Pour in coolant Engine 279 in model 463 AR20.00-P-1142RKC

14 Check engine cooling system for leaktightness Engine 279 in model 463 AR20.00-P-1010MNF

DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
15 Carry out engine test run, checking the engine for leaktightness and proper operation
