Replace Threaded Connection - AR40.20-P-0263-01XG
Model 463
as of model year 2019
- Raise vehicle.
- Remove bolt (2a) with nut (2d), washer (2b) and adjusting shim (2c) on lower control arm (1).
If the threaded connection was released, always replace the following component parts: Bolt (2a), washers (2b), adjusting shim (2c) and nut (2d) Otherwise, the axle geometry may change when driving.
Release front threaded connection for camber correction on lower transverse control arm (1).
Release rear threaded connection for caster correction on lower transverse control arm (1).

- Insert new adjusting shims (2c) as determined to adjust camber and caster.
The adjusting shim number (a) is stamped onto adjusting shim (2c). Use two adjusting shims (2c) with same adjusting shim number (a) for camber adjustment on transverse control arm (1). The notch (arrow) must always point outwards toward the wheel.
Only one adjusting shim (2c) is installed for caster adjustment on transverse control arm (1). The notch (arrow) must always point outwards toward the wheel.
Clean surfaces of adjusting shims (2c) before installation.
Adjust camber and caster on front axle
If there are no suitable adjusting shims for the required adjustment, the chassis is outside the tolerance and cannot be adjusted. Examine suspension, chassis and load-bearing body panels for damage.
Make sure that the adjusting shims (2c) are inserted all the way into the corresponding lower transverse control arm mount. Do not tighten nut (2d) yet so that the elastomer bearings of the lower transverse control arm (1) turn when the vehicle is rocked to settle the suspension.
- Install new bolt (2a), new nut (2d) and new washers (2b).
