NOTES If the threaded connection was released, always replace the following component parts: Bolt (2a), washers (2b), adjusting shim (2c) and nut (2d)

Otherwise, the axle geometry may change when driving.

  1. Loosen nut (2d) of screw (2a) at lower trailing arm (3).

IMPORTANT Loosen nut (2d) of screw (2a) until the adjusting shims (2c) can be removed or installed.

  2. Determine drive line angle by inserting different adjusting shims (2c) on the rear axle at left and right.

IMPORTANT The drive line angle is adjusted by changing the position of the screw (2a).

IMPORTANT Tighten screw (2a) and nut (2d) to read off values.

IMPORTANT If there are no suitable adjusting shims for the required adjustment, the chassis is outside the tolerance and cannot be adjusted. Examine suspension, chassis and load-bearing body panels for damage.

  3. Insert the determined new adjusting shims (2c) to adjust the drive line angle.

IMPORTANT The adjusting shims number is stamped onto the adjusting shims (2c). Use two adjusting shims with the same adjusting shims number per lower trailing arm (3). The notch (arrow) points in the direction of travel.

IMPORTANT Clean surfaces of adjusting shims (2c) before installation.

  4. The TORQUE SPECIFICATION Tighten nut (2d) of screw (2a) at trailing arm (3).
